Skin Care Compound Update (Retinol and Vitamin C)
Written on April 1, 2008 by Avatar
Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and acts the same as Alpha Hydroxy Acids. The particles of vitamin A are small enough to penetrate deeper into the skin. There are products which may contain Retinol as retinol palpitate which is a milder form of the compound. Being milder, it may need another solution or product that has the same active ingredient for the full benefits of retinol to be attained.
Vitamin C is the only anti-oxidant that is scientifically proven to promote the synthesis of collagen and that is vital to our ability to create collagen. Consult a dermatologist for the best products for Vitamin C is a volatile compound that when it is exposed to oxygen it oxidizes so fast rendering most products useless after a few uses.
