There are many cases of skin cancer that are discovered each year and a fraction of those do lead to death due to many factors. Skin Melanomas, if left untreated can spread and worse infect underlying tissue and cause irreparable damage to the human organs. Early detection and treatment is the only solution so people have to be aware of signs to look for when dealing with this health risk. Reddened itchy skin with sores that do not go away, tenderness of a particular area of skin that is usually exposed to the sun, all these symptoms can be signs of some skin problem and worse a skin melanoma. The condition is curable but as said early detection is the key.

Skin Itch
January 30, 2009
You get the itch and run off to the dermatologist to get it checked and you find out there’s nothing wrong, so what gives? Stress, for stress has a very distinct effect on our physiology that the body can react in very unpredictable ways, yes even your itchy skin. One of the reasons for this is that high stress levels may reduce the anti-microbial abilities of your skin lessening its effectivity against the simplest invaders. The skin, as we know is the human body’s largest organ and serves as our first defense against the dangerous world we live in. Our skin is like a breathable jacket that lets sweat out but leaves all other vital fluids in. that’s why a scratch or scrape can be a bit more irritating than a cut. A Breakthrough in Sun Protection
August 9, 2008
It’s that time of year again, when the sun peaks through and your skin soaks it all up like a sponge. Sure you’ll get a nice tan, but the sun’s harmful rays will affect your skin, and when it does, that tan won’t even be worth it. Here’s how to protect your sensitive skin from that powerful sun.
Most people think that an SPF 30 or more will completely shield them from the sun’s damaging rays. Wrong. SPF only refers to UVB rays, which is the shorter end of the sun’s spectrum of light that causes sunburns. The longer rays, which are called UVA, are only filtered out by some sunscreens, not all. Since UVA rays are not harmful instantly, they do damage in the long run, and companies are now working to bring out sunscreens that contain protection against UVA rays as well.

Skin Melanoma’s, why they’re so deadly
March 21, 2008
Skin melanomas are blamed for more than 80% mortality rates of cancer sufferers making it one of the most deadly. if left untreated, they can quickly spread into the rest of the underlying tissue and organs causing a painful death indeed due to complications and other cancers it can bring up. Many doctors recommend that people spend less time in the sun and limit exposure when unavoidable only to the coolest times of the day. Use sunscreen, even for short walks and use protective clothes such as wide rimmed hats and newer solar clothing that prevent harmful rays from penetrating clothing. Under the shade yet in the water, UV has a nasty tendency to bounce off reflective surfaces and even concrete so do use the same protection to prevent getting burned. Kids are more and more getting the disease due to more outdoor activities they get involved in with or without their parents.
